Mesotherapy

As we grow, our skin undergoes lots of changes in its blood circulation, oxygenation and nutrition. Sun exposure, smoking and many other factors will speed-up these degenerative changes with the resultant premature or accelerated ageing in which the skin looks wrinkled, saggy and tired.

To combat this ageing process, Mesotherapy is a safe and reliable approach as it precisely delivers vitamins, minerals and amino acids directly into the skin to nourish and rejuvenate, promote production of collagen and elastin and stimulate your skin metabolism. After treatment with mesotherapy, patients commonly describe their skin aslooking radiant, smoother, and firmer.

Mesotherapy can be used on its own or as a supplement to many other ageing management protocols like skin resurfacing. It can also be used to tone and tighten sagging skin on the neck, legs, abdomen, arms and hands.

Mesotherapy is also a highly effective treatment for hair strengthening and cellulite. It also has proven and consistent success in treating chronic pain conditions that affect the face, neck, back and legs.

+ What is Mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is a technique that uses blended injections of vitamins, enzymes, hormones, and plant extracts to rejuvenate and tighten skin. Michel Pistor, a doctor in France, developed this technique in 1950s. It was originally used to treat pain but eventually has gained much popularity across the world in the field of skin rejuvenation.

+ What are the uses of Mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy can be used for:

  • Skin glow and rejuvenation.
  • Hair strengthening.
  • Cellulite treatment.
  • Treating painful conditions like arthritis.

+ How is it done?

The technique uses very small needles to deliver a series of injections into the skin. This can be done manually or by using automated machines or both. Different combinations and blends of medications are commonly used including vitamins, minerals, vasodilators, trace elements and hydrating agents.

In a Mesotherapy session, a numbing cream may be applied to your skin to ensure comfort and minimal pain during the procedure. A series of injections-either manually or using an automated injector- are delivered using a special fine needle. The injections are made at different skin depths depending on what condition you’re having mesotherapy for.

More than one session/cycle maybe required, each cycle usually includes on average 3-6 sessions at regular intervals. Completing the course of treatment sessions and cycles is essential if you are looking for getting the maximum benefit.

+ Any downtime?

Usually, there isn’t any downtime and most patients can return to their regular activities straight away, others may need some time off due to swelling and pain at the injection sites.

+ When can I see the results? How long will it last?

Results will not be immediate, but will develop over time and a course of treatment will be required depending on your skin condition and its response to Mesotherapy.

The effects of the treatment with Mesotherapy medications can last on average 3 months with complete treatment sessions and cycles, but that in some cases can be shorter or longer. Complementary and follow up treatments may be needed to sustain the desired degree of reasonable results.

+ What are the possible side effects?

There are some risks/side effects/complications associated with Mesotherapy, they are usually infrequent and self-limited, but include the following: pain and discomfort, bruising, swelling and redness, scarring, allergic reactions, infection and skin discoloration.
