Aesthetic Gynaecology

First let us check our knowledge!

  • Did you know that sexual dysfunction is multi-factorial but it is often linked to vulvo-vaginal discomfort as a result of vaginal dryness?
  • Do you think that you are too old to enjoy a healthy sexual relationship?
  • Do you experience one or more of the following:
    - Reduced moisture?
    - Burning, irritation, itching?
    - Darkening of the intimate area?
    - Untoward changes in your genital area after childbirth or menopause?
    - Deflated, retracted or shrunken labia majora (the outer lips of the vagina)?

Then don’t go anywhere before you read this:

As our skin and hair age, our genitalia/intimate areas also show signs of ageing! The combined effects of the physiological and anatomical changes in our body as we grow older plus the effects of the hormonal changes and childbirth, all collectively can make women complain of vaginal laxity, reduced moisturisation, itching, irritation and even discomfort.

Today and owing to the advanced specialised techniques and formulae of hyaluronic acid fillers, platelet rich plasma (PRP) and chemical peels, a wide range of treatments and solutions can be employed to sort out these annoying issues.

Take this example: a “made for purpose” vaginal fillers can be used in a procedure commonly known as the “labial puff”, to enhance the shape and contour of the labia majora with the resultant better “aesthetic configuration” of that area but less laxity and irritation.

After a tailored and personalised management approach by Dr M Hani, you can expect:

  • Results that are almost immediate and full recovery within 7 days.
  • Minimal downtime.
  • Successful treatment can last up to 1 year. (Results may vary from patient to patient)
  • More aesthetic and contoured look.
  • Enhanced sense of wellbeing.

Please note, local/topical anaesthesia is used before any injectable treatment to ensure your comfort during the procedure

An up to date smear test is required to book for any aesthetic gynaecology treatment.

Female Intimate Area Bleaching
(Chemical Peeling/Skin Resurfacing)

+ What is bleaching (Chemical Peeling/Skin Resurfacing)?

With age, skin in the intimate area (area around the vagina and in between thighs) darkens and appears more textured and prune-like! Skin resurfacing (also known as chemical peeling/bleaching), involves applying of blended solutions to remove the outer layers of skin so that a smoother, less pigmented and a healthier layer of skin can appear. Skin resurfacing preparations are of different types and concentrations; each type has its own way to produce a distinctive effect on your skin. You may need more than one session based on your skin condition and response. Skin resurfacing can be used as a stand-alone treatment or in combination with other treatments to give you the best and maintained results.

+ Do I need any skin preparation before having bleaching?

Bleaching agents, to be very effective, need some skin preparation beforehand so the skin will respond effectively and undergo a smooth peeling followed by formation of a new better-looking layers of skin. After assessment, Dr M Hani will advice you on what sort of preparation you need beforehand.

+ Any side effects or risks?

A detailed discussion of any potential side effects or complications will be done during your pre-treatment consultation, as it all depends on your medical status, skin condition and the treatment plan you are going to have.

+ What should first be done before considering this treatment?

During your pre-treatment consultation, Dr M Hani will discuss and explain to you what the procedure is likely to involve, the expected benefits and the potential risks, any available alternative or complementary treatments and any particular concerns to you.

You will be offered a “cooling-off period” to allow you to consider the information you have been given, seek further details if needed so that you can make an informed decision about your treatment.
